1/2/2018 1 Comment 2017 Recap2017 was a whirlwind for me and I feel like others around me as well. I had many falls that affected me and many triumphs as well. At the end of the day, I wish I can just say "hey, oh well" and not let things bug me or upset me, but I'm learning to get a thicker skin. That's definitely one thing I've learned this year and I feel like everyone learns that in your twenties. I honestly feel like I did not really grow a lot this year than I hoped. I feel like I matured more from being 21 to 22, transferring to a big time university for school, and going out a lot in the beginning of the year. For this recap I go over many highlights of my crazy year! Thanks for everyone in 2017 who contributed to the year, whether they are my best friends, new friends, family, and those stupid boys and betches (even though I successfully did not get my heart broken this year, can I get an AMEN?!) I hope 2018 will be full of adventures, good memories and friends, saving money, and triumphs! My Best Friends Moved to Sunny CaliforniaThis honestly was one of the best and crazies things to happen to me since moving to California! It's been hard for me to create valuable friendships here since I made great best friends in Idaho while growing up. My best friends Nicole and Stettson moved here to pursue their different career dreams and it has meant so much to me!! They help me so much by just being there for me here and I am so proud of the both of them for following their dreams and moving out of state to change their lives to better themselves! It takes a lot to go after their dreams and I couldn't be a prouder best friend! It also means a lot to me for being friends with each other because of me being here and all hanging out together, that's truly the best! Here's to many more crazy and unbelievable night outs, some lazy nights watching Disney movies in our pjs, and all of the music jam outs while driving around Southern California. My First Golf TOurnament with my FamilyYes, I saw THE JORDAN SPIETH. This honestly blew me away and I was so excited to see him play! Sorry to sound like a basic betch, but he is one of my favorites. My dad is a huge fan of golf and I was also very honored and excited to attend my first PGA Golf tournament with him, my brother, and some family members. I know how the sport of golf means to my dad and I want to have that bond with him of liking the sport and attempting to play some holes with him and my brother. MY First Vegas Trip!Vegas 1, Mariah 0. Yes Vegas kicked my butt on my first legal trip there, all thanks to the pregame! Nonetheless, I had a blast with my friends during Spring Break and I have all those memories to look back on! Also, that trip helps me plan for our next Vegas trip!!! Those Beach DaysOne of my favorite things about living in SoCal is finally living near the beach! I haven't been since the fall time so I am dying to go soon! Sorry to all my jealous Idaho friends.. Coachella with my best friendYAAS this trip was so wild and fun! Nicole and I worked at Coachella this year together and it was her first time there! Coachella is a totally different place to experience and is definitely not for everyone. In my opinion, weekend 1 is better than weekend 2. My favorite performance of the weekend was Lady Gaga's, since it was my first time finally seeing her and it was a great show! Starting My Own BlogThis is definitely a milestone for me during 2017. I've always wanted to create my own website and have it as my own outlet to talk to others. I also use it to share my experiences with everyone. Creating this blog can be challenge with writers block and late nights, but it's all worth it in the end. Even though I do lack at being inconsistent, I do enjoy blogging and wanting to get better at it in 2018 and years to come. ConcertsOf course concerts are a part of my recap! Concerts hold so many memories for me throughout the years. I remember who I see, who I go with, iconic performances, and them singing my favorite songs. Imagine Dragons, October and November 2017 Lady Gaga, August & December 2017 Idaho TripI absolutely love seeing all of my close friends back in my hometown! I love driving through my small-town where I had many memories from grade school and with my immediate family. I do feel like I grew a part from it and am glad I left, but it's great to be always welcomed in it from friends. CollegeGoing to college means a lot to my family and I know how important it is to getting a degree. It's been a dream to go to a university to get a college degree ever since I was in middle school! Fun fact, I've always wanted to go to Boise State for college until I found out I was moving to California with my family. My inspiration for my education are my mom and brother. I am super proud of my mom for going back to college after having my brother and I and getting her associates at the local community college, then obtaining a bachelors at an Idaho university, and finally getting her MBA! She is a ROCKSTAR!!! I am super proud of my brother for never giving up on education and perusing his goals in life! I am grateful for having the opportunity of obtaining an Associates at a local community college and then transferring to a Cal State University! I feel like it was all about timing and it's perfect timing for me now going to a university after doing some growing up! Also, I am super grateful of having the opportunities to volunteer at two elementary schools for my education class this year! I am still not sure about becoming a teacher as a career, but the kids helped make my decision easier to know that I need to work in schools with children to help them grow, learn, and have fun! The two classrooms I helped in were so fun, yet challenging and helped me to get out of my comfort zone. So here's to 2017 with all of the ups and downs and may all of the b.s. get left in that year! Here's to 2018 with opportunities, happiness, and growth. xo
