A Day in LA

Picture
Summer is coming to an end sadly and I finally took a day trip out to sunny Los Angeles for a concert. I wanted to spend some time in the city before the concert, so my mom and I decided to explore and dine. I live about an hour away from LA, but you know... the traffic. NEVER. STOPS. That's why I hardly ever go ever there, but once I'm in there, I love it! My mom made dinner reservations that evening at a hotel with a view, so we wanted to get dressed up for the special occasion of seeing LADY GAGA, aka Mother Monster aka Joanne!!! We've been so looking forward to this concert and couldn't wait for this day! My mom is my best friend and my number one concert buddy. Here's a recap of our fun evening in the city of angels!

We left around 2:30 pm and got in around 4ish, thanks I-5 traffic :/. I've heard and seen this cute coffee shop in West Hollywood called Carrera Cafe that had a mural of a scene from the iconic film 'LA LA Land' that I took a picture in front of months ago. However, when I visited the place, I didn't go inside so I wanted to take this opportunity and try it out with my mom who's a caramel macchiato connoisseur. Their aesthetic is white, black, brick and clean. My mom and I both ordered a vanilla and caramel iced latte and the espresso was strong it that kind of overpowered the sweetness, so we give it a 7 out of 10 rating, very cute vibe though!

Right across the street is a large pink store that is a popular photo spot for the pink vibe for an Instagram page. I might as well took some photos there and it ended up looking great, even though I was being basic, but oh well, what else is new!

After coffee and being basic, my mom and I went to the Wilshire Hotel where on the roof is their restaurant, The Roof on Wilshire. It was nice and airy with having a quiet pool for the hotel guests next to it. The restaurant served American, classic food for lunch and dinner, nothing real fancy. The view was sooo great though! It looked out all over Hollywood and saw the Hollywood sign in the distance. My mom and I were celebrating our fun night ahead of us, so of course we ordered some fun drinks. My mom wanted white or desert wine so she got a rosé and I got their Pineapple Express cocktail (coconut rum, pineapple juice, etc), which was sweet and zesty. For dinner, I ordered a grilled cheese (classic Mariah) and my mom got a chicken sandwich, which were solid choices there! We managed to snap some photos there too.

After dinner, we walked down the street to find the infamous LACMA lights. It was so nice and no one was really there. I've seen so many Instagram posts at this place with their lamps on, but since it was light outside, it was not lit (pun intended).

After all this, we were PUMPED for GAGA!! She played at the Forum and she was PHENOMENAL!!! I was so excited to go with my momma because we are both fans of her and my mom hasn't seen her yet. And let me tell you, we definitely danced the whole time and had a blast! We sang all the songs and just danced (pun intended again). She played her hits and her new songs from her album Joanne! My mom's favorite was Born This Way and mine was Bad Romance. Her stage set up was so cool with her catwalk coming down from the ceiling and having projection on them and having her other stage at the other end of the room by us! Her creativity was off the charts and costuming and choreography/dancers were amazing and colorful! DEFINITELY HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES! Thanks mom for my birthday present!

I don't go into LA often so I soak up all the glitz and glam and the LA craze as much as I can. Comment what your favorite Lady Gaga song is, I'd love to know! Thanks for reading and stayed tuned.
