Hello Pixar Pier!

Picture
Pixar Pier is here!! This beaut took over the iconic Paradise Pier (RIP) this summer and it looks awesome! I feel like half of the Disney community was sad and happy for this remodeling and re-theming, including myself. I loved the classic look of Paradise Pier, but it needed updates. Also, it makes sense for Pixar to be here since it originates in California! Pixar Pier is such a big deal right now at Disneyland since it's so new (recently opened in June 2018) and especially since it's summertime, which means peak season. Pixar Pier is so bright and colorful and represents the imagination and stories from all Pixar Studios films! I absolutely love it there and want to always be there. Here is a recap of what's new and updated on the pier!

FIrst part of the pier: Knick Knack Store and Lamplight Lounge

Picture
Other than the large sign that is an arch for the entrance of the pier, there's a  new merchandise store and redone restaurant when you walk onto the new pier! The cute store on the left is called Knick Knacks, named after the Pixar's 1989 short "Knick Knack" about a snowman inside his snow globe wanting to hang out with other knick knack souvenirs that's owned by their owner and tries many times to get out of his snow globe. It's Pixar's fourth short film and this inspired Pixar Pier to name a souvenir shop after it! This store specially only carried Pixar merchandise and artwork and it's mainly all new merchandise of Pixar films and characters. Super cute and if you are only looking for Pixar merchandise, this place would be perfect to search in. They also have artwork and sketches of beloved Pixar characters all over the walls!

The Lamplight Lounge is right across from the Knick Knack store and it's so so cool! It took over Ariel's Grotto restaurant and the Cove Bar to make one large outdoor and indoor restaurant and lounge. It is inspired by all things Pixar Studios and has so many drawings and sketches from the films. You can either sit upstairs (where Cove Bar was outside on the pier) or downstairs (inside and outside by the water where Ariel's Grotto was). The menu differs between upstairs and down, where downstairs has more food options. It is medium when rating for prices, drinks and cocktails are around $12 and up. Their food and drinks are loosely connected to Pixar, but they're just yummy food! I haven't tried any of their food yet and gone downstairs, but I will very soon!!

Second part: Incredibles (Incredicoaster & Jack Jack cookiE Stand)

Picture
This Incredibles area is TOTALLY WICKED!!! It includes the newly redone Incredicoaster that used to be California Screamin' and Jack Jack cookie stand right next to it! The roller is the same track as California Screamin', but it has new sound, it's faster, and has some surprises on it featuring the incredibles family and fabulous Edna. As you come off the ride, there' s a cookie and milk stand outside so you can eat cookies like Jack Jack. There's a medium size deep dish chocolate chip cookie that's to die for and there a gluten free short bread with jelly center. Super good and not badly priced. It's worth buying  milk to enjoy your cookie with.
Also sometimes, you can be lucky and spot some Incredibles characters outside of the ride to meet like Mr. and Mrs., Frozone, and Aunty Edna! I haven't met them yet, but hopefully I will take a fabulous picture with Edna yelling "NO CAPES!".

Third Part: Toy STory (Jessie's Critter Carousel, Poultry Palace, and Toy Story Mania)

Picture
This Toy Story neighborhood is right after Incredibles and it is so, so cute and on point with their theming! Even though we do not have Toy Story Land in DCA like Hollywood Studios in Orlando, we have a smaller size of it on the pier. It will soon have Jessie's carousel and now has Toy Story Mania 3D shooting game attraction (similar to Buzz Lightyear's in Disneyland) and has a new chicken quick service food stand. Toy Story Mania is super fun and can be a challenge to get a high score on! I always have contests with my friends when we ride the ride to see who had the highest score and accuracy. Typically, this attraction has a wait time of about 45 minutes but you can fast pass it! You can also meet some Toy Story characters like Woody, Buzz, and Jessie outside of the ride too!
**LOOK OUT FOR SUPER CUTE ANDY'S CLOUD WALL TRASHCANS IN THIS AREA! WHO KNEW A TRASHCAN CAN BE DECORATED SO CUTE?

PAL AROUND Ferris wheel & BOARDWALK GAMES

YES, the fun wheel is still up, but has new carts! And of course, the carts to ride in have new PIXAR character faces on them. Too cute to see! And Mickey's face is still on the wheel, woohoo!
For the boardwalk games, you have to buy a card to load games on there. There are card machines to the left and right of the games. Little tip, the one on the far right by Bullseye Stampede usually has less people at it. Each game is 400 points and each 400 points costs $4.
Picture
The La Luna Star Catcher game is the game on the far left that you win a toy no matter what! You just pick up a star in the water with a net and see which prize you get, which include little stars, medium size comet, and the little boy plush from the Pixar short.
Picture
This Wall-E game is that one water game where you shoot water with a water gun in a hole and see if you're the one to get to the top first! You can win a Wall-E or an Eve!
Picture
This Heimlich's Candy Corn Toss is sooo cute!! You just throw bean bags in Heimlich's mouth 3 times and you can win a Flick, Heimlich, or Ladybug plush!
Picture
And let me tell you, these board walk games are the cutest thing ever! This last one is Bullseye Stallion Stampede and you roll a ball in different holes in your lane to make your horse run or walk to the finish line. If you in win against less amount of people, you win a small horse plush. If you win against 4-6 people, you win a Woody medium size plush, and if you win against all players (6 max), then you get to win  a large Bullseye plush! I actually won Bullseye recently and I've always wanted that trusty and cute horse!

Fun fact, you can meet many Pixar pal characters on the pier!! They include Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, Frozone, Edna Mode, Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, and Bullseye! You can meet Sully and Mike sometimes Monsters Inc. attraction in Hollywood Land.
