10/31/2018 0 Comments Mickey's Halloween Party 2018 RecapOkay, long story short...I went to Mickey's Halloween Party alone this year and I still had a great time! This is my fifth year attending and it is still so fun every time. A few things here and there have changed, but it's still spoopy and fun to attend! I go to the one in Disneyland in Anaheim, but one day I REALLY want to go to the one at Disney World to see the FABULOUS Sanderson Sisters perform! Here is my recap of my solo trip to Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland! Mickey's Halloween Party is an after hours, special ticketed event only held inside Disneyland park where there are special entertainment and characters, trick or treat trails, and attenders can dress up in costume (with restricting guidelines). Tickets range from $70 to $125 and sell out pretty quick! It was sold out by September this year. The party starts at 6 PM and goes until 11 Pm or midnight on specific days from August to Halloween night. You can enter the park early at 4 PM and will be given a bracelet to wear. My CostumeSo I got these shoes almost a year ago, knowing when I saw them that I needed to be Lizzie McGuire one time for Halloween and wear these shoes! These are classic Lizzie, platform style shoes that all Disney Channel fans will know. Lizzie McGuire was my FAVORITE show growing up in my tween years and Lizzie is an ICON. And I've always wanted to be her growing up so why not? ;) My costume was pretty easy to get at the parks and all the people my age got it and loved it! TRick or Treat TrailsIt wouldn't be a halloween party without candy involved!! YES, you can trick or treat all over Disneyland during the party! There are entrance and exit signs for the trails everywhere in all the lands in Disneyland. You are given a small, plastic treat bag at the park entrance to use for trick or treating, but you can bring your own bag to use for the treats! I saw so many kids (and adults) carry super cute treat bags and buckets that went with their costumes! The best treat trails in my opinion are along the Rivers of America heading towards the Haunted Mansion Attraction and going backstage from Main Street USA to Tomorrowland because there are like 4 treat stops in that trail to get so much candy and treats. Also, they also pass out like dried fruit, apple packs, pretzels, and cheese its snacks in the treats so it's not just candy. EntertainmentThe entertainment is definitely worth it all! There are two special entertainments to see at the party: the Boo to You parade and the Halloween Screams fireworks that follow immediately after the parade. These are only available to watch during the halloween party! BOO TO YOU PARADE This parade is so cute, but pretty quick! There are about 5 floats that are all spooky themed and have dancers and many characters in them! The parade starts in Main Street USA and goes to the back by It's a Small World, like any other parade and then comes back for their second time from Small World to Main Street. The first show is at 8:50 and the second one is at 10:30. The creepy headless horseman opens the parade and cast members notifies viewers to not have flash photography because it would spook the horse. My favorite part of the parade is the last float with so many villains on it, like the dragon of Maleficent! Halloween Screams Fireworks This fireworks show is one of my favorites of all time at Disneyland! The theming and music are so good and imagineers used so many references for this spooky show from so many films and villains. Jack Skellington opens the show and tells everyone to scream throughout the show. There are projections on the castle, It's a Small World attraction, and on the buildings down Main Street USA, like any other firework show. I usually watch it on Main Street USA so I can see the projections on both the castle and Main Street buildings. There's also a moon that sits to the left of the castle that projects Jack and other pictures during the show. There are some spots where you can't see the moon so make sure you don't stand to the left of the castle or else you won't see the moon projector. CharactersThere are two meet and greet stations at the front of Main Street USA by the train station where you can meet villains! Maleficent, Hades, Evil Queen, Jafar, Queen of Hearts, and so many more! characters are there every hour during the party and switches off. I waited about 15 minutes to meet Hades and it was awesome because he is never out other than during Halloween time. Face characters can take longer to wait to meet since you can have a conversation with them longer than a 'fur character' like Hades. I also met my favorite puppet, Pluto, on Main Street and I waited about 5 minutes to meet and take pictures with him. He was so fun to meet and his wore a candy corn collar that looked adorable on him! Mickey and Minnie are available to meet during the party too, but they are in Frontierland by Rancho Del Zocalo! The wait was about 45- 1 hour so I didn't stick around to meet them. They are usually on Main Street in their cute, purple halloween costumes during normal park hours so I would just take a picture there with them with shorter wait times. Well thank you for reading and BOO TO YOU! I hope you have the opportunity to go to the halloween party if you want because they are so fun!!
xo and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!👻🎃
