What's New at Disneyland Summer 2019

Picture
Hello everyone, there are a lot of new attractions coming to the Disneyland resort these next couple of years and it's sort of too much to handle! I am going to let you know what is going on the DLR in these next couple of months and what to do that's new RIGHT NOW.

food

Black tap- Burgers and CRAZY MILKSHAKES- $$

Picture
Location: Downtown Disney District- next to Ballast Point Brewery
Black Tap is a restaurant based in New York and has come to the Disneyland resort this year to serve burgers and insane shakes. And when I say insane, I mean it. The milkshakes are large and come with desserts on top of it, like a slice of cake and cookies! I haven't tried this place yet but hopefully I will soon! The burgers and chicken sandwiches look good as well. It's considered a quick service place so there are two places to order, outside and inside booths. Then, you sit down at any table available and get your food there. Yes, they accept annual pass discount but not on their alcohol of course.

Lamplight Lounge Brunch- California Adventure- $$

Picture
Okay this place is going to be the new favorite breakfast place on the Disneyland Resort property! I've heard amazing things about this place and I can't wait to try this place very soon. The Lamplight Lounge is a newish restaurant on the Pixar Pier in California Adventure and is Pixar themed and has a relaxed vibe by the water that overlooks the water and Pal A-round Ferris wheel. Their brunch is only available on the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) from 8:15 AM to 11:45 AM. After that they will serve for lunch and dinner. You can go to the restaurant for a wait time or you can make a reservation, however they fill up fast. The top entree I would try are the Indulgent French Toast that are huge, is infused with maple syrup, and is topped with Irish whipped cream, berries, and an almond brittle! Another one I would like to try the Potato Flautas! The drinks I really want to try are the beermosa, Cinnamon Toast Cocktail, and the mimosa flight!! There are also the New York Avocado toast with steak and the Lamplight Chillaquiles.

tropical Hideaway- Disneyland $

Picture
The Tropical Hideaway is a quick service stop in Adventureland in Disneyland and has been opened since the beginning of the year. It's to the right of the Tiki Room and overlooks the Jungle Cruise river! They have two new dole whip flavors which are to die for! The food there is very good and offer cold noodles with veggies, lumpia with sauces, and dole whip! For dole whips, they have normal pineapple, raspberry, and orange. You can get swirl for all of them and do offer them in floats! My favorite one is the raspberry swirl with pineapple! The Tropical Hideaway sadly does not accept Annual Pass discount but the food is very cheap and great for lunch and snacks!

Refurbished Sleeping Beauty's Castle

Picture
Picture
Probably the most iconic attraction on the Disneyland Resort got a makeover this year and she is thriving! The castle hasn't really been updated before that much, but this time the castle really transformed. It shows bright colors and even glistens! The castle was under refurbishment for a couple of months until late May when it debuted before the opening of Galaxy's Edge. Tip: everyone likes to take photos right in front of the castle in the center, but in my opinion, taking photos on the sides of the castle looks better and is less crowded. Both sides of the castle has a bridge on it to the inside of the castle so there is more room to take photos and there's pretty good lighting as well, the right side more than the left.

Mickey's Philharmagic 3D Show- Hollywood Land in California Adeventure

Picture
Mickey's Philharmagic 3D show is so so cute! It is originally shown in Walt Disney World in Magic Kingdom and is now being shown in California Adventure park in Disneyland Resort! It is a 3-demensional 13 minute film about Mickey's orchestra being hijacked from Donald Duck and has fun, classic songs in it for the audience to enjoy! It is placed inside where the Frozen sing-along was next to Monsters Inc. attraction and is in a large, air-conditioned theater! Perfect for the summer time to escape the heat and have a break from rides, but still have fun! There are also very cute posters at the theater featuring popular characters and films.

Jesse's Critter Carousel- Pixar Pier in California ADventure

Picture
Picture
This is the newest attraction opened right now in California Adventure on Pixar Pier and is the cutest thing ever!! This is the revamped carousel in-between Incredicoaster and Toy Story Mania attractions and is now Toy Story themed! It plays class Woody's Roundup songs and western songs! The critters painted on the walls surrounding the carousel are very cute! The line due is small, but the line for the carousel shouldn't be very long during peak times. The critters you can ride on the ride are colorful deer, bunnies, snakes, horses, and skunks! Super cute and a unique carousel!

Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration- Downtown Disney District

Picture
The new pop-up photo spot in Downtown Disney is so cute and very creative! My best friend Stettson has visited this site and it looks so fun and adorable to be at! All the instagrammers have been here since it's opened in the spring and it looks great and pretty large. It is in the ESPN Zone building near the Disneyland Hotel and Earl of Sandwich and the ticket price to get in is $30 M-TH before 4 PM and $38 M-TH after 4 PM and all day weekends. You have to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time and you have to book an appointment time to go on the Disneyland website!

Disneyland Forever (60th Celebration) Fireworks

Picture
Oh my gosh these are my FAVORITE fireworks I've ever seen at the Disneyland park and ever. These fireworks debuted for the 60th anniversary of Disneyland and it really was magical and perfect. There are projections of films an characters on the castle, Matterhorn Mountain, and Main Street USA buildings. This was the first fireworks I've seen with Tangled in it and the fireworks and gold colors is GORGEOUS. I don't know these fireworks just make me so emotional and I really do love it. It really shows the essence of Disneyland's magic.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Picture
Okay here is the BIG thing now at Disneyland park... STAR WARS GALAXY'S EDGE! This land is probably the most immersed, creative, and authentic land in all Disney parks around the world, so I've heard. If you haven't heard already, Galaxy's Edge takes place in the planet of Batuu from Star Wars and has authentic props, characters, and environment from the planet. The land has two large attractions in it: Smugglers Run (millennium falcon attraction and is opened now) and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (opens later in 2019).

Also, there are Star Wars characters roaming around in the land like Ray, storm troopers, Chewbaca, and Kylo Ren and interact with guests and I think it's really cool they can now hang out and walk around the land instead of having a set place and times to meet the characters. The land's environment seems more chill and relaxed than other lands, for now! However, you must have reservations in order to enter in Galaxy's Edge from now until June 23rd when it is opened to all guests in the park. Reservations are helping with crowd control in the land and really helps guests with ease going to the land and reservations are sold out.

The merchandise is unique because it looks like it actually came from the planet Batuu and not just from Disneyland. There are multiple stores in the land and two of them are specifically for higher end, immersive merchandise like the Droid Depot and Savi's Workshop- Handbuilt Lightsabers! Also, there is now the first alcoholic bar in Disneyland park in Batuu called the Oga's Cantina and I need to try this place!

The one merchandise I really wanted and received from my brother was a light-up and noise BB-8 droid headband!!! It is so funny and cute looking and I can't wait to wear it at the parks! The pins are also cool for Galaxy's Edge that we got as well!

I hope to visit Galaxy's Edge soon when it is not crowded but I really don't know when that will happen to be honest!!

Hongkong Disney land is one of the best places I have been. I have experienced different rides in there and eat some of their unique foods. I wished that I can stay longer there. It was like a fairy tale from the bus which is the Mickey bus. The expenses were all worth it. I hope to revisit the amusement park in the near future and brink my nephews in there. The lamplight lounge is where I took pictures with Mickey and Minney which is so memorable one.

I really miss this place. Disney land was one of my graduation gift before. Going in here was such a magical time for me. I really explored and enjoyed a lot of stuffs. I was able to ride all rides and have a lot of photos. I also bought my favorite earrings so far which is the seven dwarves of Snow White. I hope that I can visit this place too someday with my nephews and nieces. I know that they will also like this place.
